What does Cafe Borówka’s signature coffee taste like?

Drawing on many years of experience in coffee, we created EXCLUSIVE BLEND: our own combination of selected beans, strong and invigorating, with a distinctive character and wonderful aroma. It brings together the gentleness of Arabica and a little of Robusta's bitterness. Discover sweet forest-fruit notes, toasted almonds and a lightly smoky aroma.

Coffee flavour depends on many things. The plant variety is important, giving the beans distinctive aromatic and flavour characteristics. The place and conditions of cultivation matter too: elevation, temperature, rainfall and sunshine all play a part.

Many coffees are blends of the two most widely traded species, Arabica and Robusta. Arabica is particularly prized for its aromatic range, but can be demanding to grow. Robusta is generally hardier and contains more caffeine. In espresso blends, it can also contribute to a rich crema.

The two species differ in growing requirements, bean appearance, flavour and caffeine content. Combining them skilfully can produce a gentle, aromatic cup that still feels invigorating.

Balancing their different personalities is not simple. It requires knowledge, practical skill and a good sense of taste.

EXCLUSIVE BLEND — gentle but invigorating?

Most coffees in our roastery's selection are high-quality Arabicas from different parts of the world. For this blend, we chose beans with a gentle character and delicate notes of sweet forest fruits. Toasted almond and a lightly smoky aroma complete the profile.

Our signature blend contains 90% Arabica, giving it a mild, slightly sweet and balanced flavour. A carefully selected Indian Robusta adds a subtle bitterness.

That small addition breaks up the sweetness and contributes extra caffeine. The result is a coffee that combines a gentle flavour with an energising character.

How should you brew it?

To explore EXCLUSIVE BLEND at its best, grind the beans just before brewing. Try an espresso machine, moka pot, dripper or Chemex to discover different expressions of its fruit and roast notes.

We suggest beginning with an espresso to appreciate the concentrated essence of the blend. The beans were selected to satisfy demanding coffee lovers without needing additions, although you are always free to enjoy it in your own preferred way.
