What is Chemex?
After a few years of using pressure, capsule and other modern inventors, we return with joy to the classics of making coffee. One of such classic devices is Chemex. Chemex's father was the American chemist Dr. Peter Schlumbohm. Although Dr. Peter Schlumbohm owned about 300 different patents in his field, he gained fame only after patenting and producing Chemex. This device in a short time gained great popularity and played even in several famous film productions, eg Rosemary's Baby. The popularity of the device obliged the owner to establish Chemex in Pittsfield. In 1943, the Museum of Modern Art recognized Chemex as one of the best designed products.
Making coffee in Chemexie is very simple. You need to stock up on hot water, a good ground coffee from our store and a filter. Although the brewing process itself is similar to being brewed in an overflow machine, the aroma of brewed coffee in Chemexie is unique.
The device resembles flasks used in the chemical laboratory, but it is definitely more elegant. Chemex is a one-piece hourglass shaped dish. It is made of high quality heat-resistant glass with a wooden collar and a leather ornament. The collar is located in the central part of the coffee machine and serves as a handle and protects against scalding. Filters used in Chemexach do not absorb odors and do not allow sediments to escape.
A frequent problem with the use of overflow machines was the coffee brewing temperature being too low. In the case of Chemex, the user determines and controls the temperature suitable for brewing coffee.
Thanks to Chemex, after a short while you can enjoy a wonderful aromatic coffee.
If you feel like having another coffee, you simply repeat the entire brewing procedure.
