Coffee market: what changed in September 2026?

The International Coffee Organization (ICO) reported an average Composite Indicator Price of 262.18 US cents per pound in September 2026, down 8.7% from August. Greater availability linked to Brazil’s harvest and expectations of ample supply weighed on the indicator.

This is a benchmark for green coffee, not a retail price list for roasted coffee. It does not automatically translate into lower shop prices, which also depend on origin and bean quality, roasting, transport, exchange rates and taxes.
